THE CAUSES OF OBESITY: EATING OFF SCHEDULE

Besides the easy availability of high-fat food and energy-saving devices, another factor in unwanted weight gain is eating at the wrong time. In an attempt to diet, people often skip breakfast, only to end up eating more at the end of the day. From a physiological point of view, the end of the day is the worst time to eat because our bodies are slowing down and burning fewer calories. Combine this physical response with the fact that typical evening foods, such as desserts, alcohol, chips, and other appetizers, tend to be more caloric than typical morning foods, such as cereal and juice, and you have a recipe for weight gain.

To ensure that you effectively metabolize calories and still get all the nutrients you need, always start the day with a good, hearty breakfast and finish with a light supper. This way you have plenty of energy to get you through the day, and your body won't have trouble burning all those calories as it becomes more sedentary in the evening.
